Yin Yoga

Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The practice aims at increasing the circulation in joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. It also helps us to regulate the body’s flow of energy. A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 2 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia.  It is a quiet meditative practice. Props are offered for both modifications and depth.

Aerial hoop classes are a progressive series and are taught as a series.

After completion of the Intro class, students must next attend our Fit to Fly course. This series focuses on conditioning, strength-building and fundamental techniques in all apparatuses.  This a 8 week session which will ready students for moving up to our Beginner series.

Aerial Sling Classes

Aerial Sling classes are a progressive series and are taught as a series.

It is a unique apparatus that allows you to create mesmerizing shapes and fully express yourself creatively. In this session, we will focus on creating fluidity in our movements through a variety of sequences, dynamic tricks and spinning techniques. Students must be able to flip in to a sling at chest height or above.

Classical Odissi dance classes in NOVA| Shakti aerial yoga and dance

Odissi is an Indian classical dance form originating from Eastern India in a state called Orissa. Odissi is one of the oldest dance forms and is a combination of strong foot work enhanced with fluid upper torso movements and graceful gestures. The repertoire of dance consists of pure dance items, devotional pieces on Gods and Goddesses in Hinduism as well as acting pieces focused upon common Indian themes such as love themes of Radha/Krishna. The dance poses utilized in the dance can be found in temples in Orissa. The movements are subtle and refined, flowing like the waves washed along the shores of Puri beach in Orissa.
